Watan-French President Emmanuel Macron vowed on Sunday to support Greenland, declaring that the Arctic island is not for sale and will not be taken over—amid threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to assert control over it.

Macron stated that Greenland is under threat from “unrestrained ambition,” and its situation should serve as a wake-up call for all Europeans.

Greenland, an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, has the right to declare independence.
