Israel Shifts Troops from Gaza to Northern and Eastern Borders

Israeli army redeploys forces amid fears of infiltration from Jordan and Syria, and potential Hezbollah involvement alongside Iran.

Watan-An Israeli security source stated on Sunday evening that the Israeli army is reducing its troop presence in the Gaza Strip to bolster the country’s northern and eastern borders, due to fears of infiltration.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, the unnamed source said the army is shifting its forces from Gaza to the eastern and northern frontiers.

The move is attributed to concerns over potential infiltration by what the source described as “militias from Jordan and Syria,” and the possibility that Lebanon’s Hezbollah could join the war on Iran’s side.

Israel’s eastern borders are shared with Jordan and the occupied West Bank, while its northern borders are with Lebanon and the northeastern frontier with Syria.

The source did not specify the number of troops involved in the Gaza drawdown or the scale of the reduction.
