Spain’s Prime Minister Vows Stronger Opposition to Gaza Genocide on Anniversary of Palestine Recognition

Pedro Sánchez Reaffirms Commitment to Palestinian Rights, Hints at Possible Sanctions on Israel Amid Ongoing Atrocities in Gaza.

Watan-Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez affirmed that Spain will raise its voice louder than ever before against the ongoing genocide in Gaza being committed by Israel.

His remarks came in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, marking one year since Spain officially recognized the State of Palestine.

Sánchez wrote:“A year has passed since we recognized the State of Palestine. The suffering in Gaza is unbearable, and Spain will continue to raise its voice more forcefully than ever to end the massacre the world is witnessing today.”

It is expected that sanctions against Israel will be on the agenda during Sánchez’s upcoming meeting with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob in Madrid on Thursday.

On May 28, 2024, the Spanish government officially approved its decision to recognize the State of Palestine.
