Iran Launches New Missile Attack on Israel, Injures 17 in Haifa

Watan-On Friday, Iran launched a new missile attack on Israel amid an escalating confrontation between the two countries. According to Israeli authorities, 20 missiles were fired from Iranian territory.

Israeli media reported that at least six missiles struck various areas, with 17 people injured in Haifa, in northern Israel.

The Mayor of Haifa confirmed that the Iranian attack targeted two strategic sites in the city, causing significant damage. Videos circulating online showed widespread destruction and plumes of smoke rising from multiple locations.

Missiles Hit Multiple Israeli Cities Amid Rising Censorship and Casualties

Air raid sirens were heard across southern, central, and northern regions of Israel, accompanied by loud explosions, as missile exchanges between Iran and Israel continued for the seventh consecutive day.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that six locations were targeted, including Haifa, the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, and Beersheba, though the exact sites were not disclosed.

The channel added that one of the missiles directly hit a school in central Israel, but no information on casualties or damage was provided.

Meanwhile, Israeli military censors banned the publication of any details regarding the locations of Iranian missile impacts unless they occurred in civilian areas, limiting media access to detailed information.

Israel’s emergency medical service Magen David Adom confirmed that several people were wounded, two of them critically.

Additionally, a woman in Karmiel, near Akko, died of a heart attack inside a shelter due to panic caused by the sirens, according to Israel Hayom.

On June 13, Israel had launched unprecedented airstrikes on Iran, citing intelligence that Iran’s nuclear program was nearing a “point of no return.” Since then, Iran has retaliated with waves of missiles and drones aimed at Israeli territory.
