Israeli Forces Withdraw from Gaza Amidst Losses: Insights into the Challenges of the Conflict

Watan-Hebrew media revealed that the Israeli occupation army withdrew five training and reserve brigades from combat in Gaza for the “Leadership Training Administration in the Army.”

The decision by the occupation army to withdraw the five brigades from the Gaza Strip followed the decision of Chief of Staff Hertzi Halevi.

According to Israeli media reports, the forces of the 551st and 14th reserve brigades will conclude their activities in the Gaza Strip today and return to their homes.

Earlier, two other brigades of regular fighters (the Infantry School and the Non-Commissioned Officers Course and the Armored Corps Training Brigade) had left the battle arena.

Withdrawals with Israeli losses

While this move came amidst significant losses incurred by the Israeli army in Gaza, Halevi claimed that the dismissal of the last two brigades aimed at training the next generation of leaders on the ground. He explained that, in accordance with the developments in the fighting in the Gaza Strip, it is expected that additional forces will be discharged in the coming week.

According to the “Times of Israel” website, the brigades responsible for training soldiers will return to their usual activities, while reserve soldiers will be released to assist in reviving the Israeli economy.

These steps come after days of withdrawing a Golani Brigade from Gaza, part of its soldiers, following severe losses in personnel and equipment during the war on Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israeli media claimed that the withdrawal was for “rest and reorganization of ranks.”

Israeli acknowledgments of the difficulty of the Gaza war

Just days ago, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation, Hertzi Halevi, stated that the goals of the war on Gaza are essential but not easy to achieve.

Regarding the ongoing battles in the northern part of the Gaza Strip with Palestinian resistance, Halevi affirmed that “there are no magical solutions, and there are no shortcuts to dismantle Hamas comprehensively.”

In response, Reserve Brigadier General Gershon Hacohen stated that Hamas is an extremely creative and unique army, built according to the conditions of the Gaza Strip, describing the war against it as “difficult.”

The announced number of casualties in the Israeli occupation army has risen to 506 since October 7th, including 189 since the start of the ground incursion and the outbreak of battles in the Gaza Strip on the 27th of the same month.
