Mediators Explore “Innovative Mechanisms” to Bridge Ceasefire Gaps Between Israel and Hamas

Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S. intensify indirect negotiations in Doha amid accusations that Netanyahu is deliberately sabotaging ceasefire efforts.

Watan-A source familiar with the ongoing indirect ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas revealed on Monday that mediators are currently examining “innovative mechanisms” to bridge remaining gaps between the negotiating parties in Doha.

According to Egyptian media, intensive efforts are underway by intermediaries to overcome obstacles hindering the indirect negotiations, which have been ongoing in Doha for nearly a week.

Egypt’s intelligence chief Hassan Rashad reportedly held a meeting with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as part of Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza. No specific time or location for the meeting was provided.

Rashad also held extensive meetings with both Palestinian and Israeli delegations, according to the same source, in a bid to push the talks forward.

The Egyptian-Qatari coordination aims to secure a Gaza ceasefire, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and enable a prisoner and hostage exchange between Palestinians and Israelis.

The sources confirmed that Egypt, Qatar, and the United States are ramping up diplomatic engagement with all involved parties to reach a de-escalation in Gaza.

Hamas Accusations Against Netanyahu

On Saturday, Hamas accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of deliberately sabotaging all rounds of negotiations and dragging Israel into a “futile and open-ended war” that endangers Israeli hostages and risks a strategic disaster for Israel.

In a statement, Hamas said:”Netanyahu is systematically undermining all negotiation rounds and refuses to reach any agreement. He is dragging his army and his state into a losing battle that threatens the lives of its soldiers and hostages.”

The movement emphasized that its fighters are engaging in a “war of attrition” using surprise tactics that are disrupting Israeli military superiority and initiative. Hamas added:“The longer the war continues, the deeper the Israeli army sinks into Gaza’s shifting sands, and the more exposed it becomes to our high-impact resistance strikes.”

Hamas dismissed Netanyahu’s claims of an “absolute victory” as nothing more than a “massive illusion” meant to mask a devastating military and political defeat.

These developments unfold amid ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza, which have lasted for over nine months. Despite intensive international diplomacy, tangible progress toward ceasefire or prisoner exchange agreements remains elusive.
