Houthi Official: Response to U.S. Strikes on Iran Is “Only a Matter of Time”

Watan-A senior Yemeni Houthi official said on Sunday that the group’s response to the U.S. strike on Iran is “only a matter of time.”

Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political bureau of the Iran-aligned Houthi group, told Al Jazeera Mubasher that the ceasefire agreement with the U.S. was made before the war on Iran began.

The Houthis have been launching attacks on shipping lanes and on Israel, which they claim are in support of Palestinians in Gaza during the war with Israel.

In May, the Houthis reached an agreement with the United States to halt attacks on American vessels in exchange for a U.S. commitment to stop bombing Houthi targets.
