Watan-One person was killed and another injured on Friday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a motorcycle in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
The report stated that Israeli aircraft launched a series of strikes later in the evening, hitting multiple locations across southern Lebanon. Among the targeted areas were the region between Shbeil and Sarira, Tumat Niha, and Al-Mahmoudiyah.
In a related development, the agency noted that a Lebanese Army unit and engineering teams, accompanied by a UNIFIL force, moved toward the Karkazan area northeast of Meiss al-Jabal on Friday evening to recover a bulldozer seized earlier in the day by Israeli forces. However, the operation failed due to a breakdown in communications with the tripartite committee, prompting a withdrawal of the Lebanese force. Shortly after, Israeli troops fired warning shots into the air.
Earlier in the day, another person was killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle on the road near the town of Abbasiya in Tyre district. Lebanon’s Ministry of Health Emergency Operations Center confirmed the death.
Another Israeli drone also struck a parked vehicle in the southern town of Hebbariyeh, but no injuries were reported as the car was empty at the time.
Israel continues its near-daily air raids in southern Lebanon, despite a ceasefire agreement that officially went into effect on November 27. Israeli forces also persist with bulldozing operations and remain deployed at five points inside Lebanese territory, in clear violation of the agreement.
