Lebanese President Joseph Aoun Reaffirms Support for Internal Security Forces on 164th Anniversary

President highlights the critical role of Internal Security Forces in preserving Lebanon’s safety and stability amid growing national challenges.

Watan-Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed on Monday that Lebanon’s security and stability are closely tied to the strength and effectiveness of its security institutions.

In a statement from the Lebanese presidency marking the 164th anniversary of the founding of the Internal Security Forces (ISF), President Aoun said:“We reaffirm our commitment to providing full support to the ISF, to enhance their capabilities and improve the conditions of their personnel.”

He added:“The ISF is not merely a security institution; it is a symbol of dedication and loyalty in the service of Lebanon and its people. Its members stand as vigilant guardians of citizens’ safety and security.”

ISF Praised as Pillar of Stability Amid Lebanon’s Ongoing Crises

Aoun noted that over the years, the ISF has faced numerous challenges — from combating crime to maintaining public order, from fighting drug trafficking to protecting critical infrastructure, government institutions, and diplomatic missions. “Each time,” he said, “they have proven themselves equal to the responsibility entrusted to them.”
He continued:“Today, as we face difficult economic and social conditions, the ISF, alongside other security institutions, remains the safety valve that preserves Lebanon’s stability and protects its citizens. The sacrifices and dedication of its men and women deserve our deepest appreciation and respect.”
President Aoun concluded by expressing confidence that “Lebanon will remain safe and stable thanks to the loyal efforts of the ISF and all security forces.”
