Israel Issues Airstrike Threats on Beirut Suburbs, Targets Five Buildings Ahead of Eid al-Adha

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee warns civilians in Beirut's southern suburbs to evacuate immediately, citing alleged drone production by Hezbollah.

Watan-On Thursday evening, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued new threats targeting residents of Beirut’s southern suburbs, specifically five buildings in the areas of Hadath, Haret Hreik, and Burj al-Barajneh.

Following the warning, heavy gunfire erupted across the suburbs to alert residents, causing panic and severe traffic congestion, especially as the alert came on the eve of Eid al-Adha.

According to available information, the five buildings threatened with airstrikes are:

  • The Al-Jawad supermarket building near Al-Qaem Mosque, in the Hayy al-Abyad area

  • A building in the Kafaat neighborhood behind the Imam al-Askari complex

  • The Dar Al-Maaref hall in Rweiss

  • A building in Hayy al-Amirkan, near Abu Hussein Café

The Israeli army claimed the strike aims to target underground infrastructure allegedly used to produce drones within residential neighborhoods of the suburbs. It also accused Hezbollah’s drone unit of producing thousands of drones with Iranian backing and guidance.

Adraee published an “urgent warning” on X (formerly Twitter), urging everyone present in the specified neighborhoods to evacuate immediately and stay at least 300 meters away from the targeted locations.
