Watan-Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he had warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against attacking Iran, calling such a move “inappropriate” amid ongoing negotiations with Tehran over its nuclear program.
Speaking to reporters, Trump confirmed, “I’d like to be honest—yes, I did,” when asked whether he had requested in a phone call last week that Netanyahu refrain from military action.
He added: “I told him it wouldn’t be appropriate right now. We are having very good talks with them.”
Trump continued:“I told him this would not be suitable now because we are very close to a solution. I believe they [Iran] want a deal, and if we can finalize one, we will save many lives.”

In recent weeks, Tehran and Washington have held five rounds of talks focused on the nuclear issue—the highest level of contact since the U.S. withdrew in 2018 from the 2015 nuclear agreement during Trump’s first term.
Earlier on Wednesday, Iran said it may allow American inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to access its facilities if an agreement is reached with the U.S.
However, Israel has repeatedly threatened military action against its archrival Iran. American media reported last week that Israel is preparing to strike Iranian nuclear sites despite the ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations.
Western nations—particularly the United States and Israel—suspect that Iran is seeking to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran, however, denies any military nuclear ambitions.
