Watan-“Nothing… imagine she’s your daughter or little sister.” With these painful words, activist Hamza al-Masri documented in a viral Instagram video the horrifying moment a young girl struggled to survive amid flames ignited by an Israeli airstrike on the Fahmi al-Jarjawi School in Gaza.
Social media users described the footage as one of the most devastating scenes since the war on Gaza began 19 months ago. The video triggered a storm of outrage, with users calling it “beyond description” due to its brutality. Others said, “Gaza’s morning was black and painful,” referencing the girl’s desperate escape among the charred remains of her family, while the Arab and Islamic world remains shamefully silent.

The child, Ward Jalal al-Sheikh Khalil, is the sole survivor of her family. She lost six siblings in the massacre, while her father remains in critical condition.
Palestinian journalist Abdel Qader Sabah commented: “This is a real scene that reflects part of our daily life—bombings, killings, burning, starvation, oppression, and endless pain.”
The tragedy has raised serious questions online, with many asking when Arab and Islamic nations and human rights organizations will finally respond to the genocide unfolding in Gaza.
Fares Afaneh, the director of emergency and ambulance services in northern Gaza, stated: “Children were burned alive, and no one could save them.”
Today, Monday, dozens of Palestinians were martyred following an Israeli airstrike on a school sheltering displaced families and a residential home in Gaza. Al Jazeera’s correspondent confirmed that the death toll rose to 30 after the pre-dawn air raid on the school in al-Daraj neighborhood, Gaza City.
Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee admitted to the massacre, claiming that “terrorists used the complex to plan attacks against Israeli citizens and forces.” He said the Israeli army and Shin Bet targeted “key Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives working inside a command center formerly known as the Fahmi al-Jarjawi school in Gaza.”
