Police arrest one man after vehicle plows into crowd in central Liverpool amid Premier League victory celebrations.

Watan-Police in Liverpool announced on Monday evening that a car struck a number of pedestrians in the northern English city during celebrations of Liverpool FC’s Premier League title victory.

Authorities said they received a call shortly after 6:00 PM local time (5:00 PM GMT) reporting a collision between a vehicle and several pedestrians in the city center. A man was taken into custody, but police have not confirmed whether there were any casualties.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his shock over the incident, which occurred as fans gathered to celebrate Liverpool’s title win.

Starmer wrote on X (formerly Twitter):“The scenes in Liverpool are horrifying — our hearts are with those injured or affected.”

He also thanked emergency services for their swift and professional response.
