Watan-The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has revealed shocking figures showing the scale of child casualties since the beginning of Israel’s ongoing aggression against Gaza.
In a newly released report, the ministry stated that 16,503 children have been killed since the start of the war—underscoring the systematic and direct targeting of the most vulnerable and innocent members of society.
The age distribution of child martyrs is as follows:

Infants under 1 year: 916 killed

Children aged 1–5 years: 4,365 killed

Children aged 6–12 years: 6,101 killed

Teenagers aged 13–17 years: 5,124 killed
The ministry emphasized that these “heartbreaking figures” represent more than just the loss of innocent lives. They reflect the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe and the depth of the crime committed against an entire generation that should have received protection, care, and education—not been turned into targets for aircraft missiles and tank shells.
The Ministry of Health called on the international community, human rights bodies, and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their legal and moral obligations, take urgent action to stop the aggression, and hold Israeli leaders accountable for their crimes against children and defenseless civilians.
It is worth noting that the total number of martyrs since the beginning of the war has exceeded 53,000, with around 122,000 injured—including, alongside children, a large number of women.
The ministry also confirmed that many victims remain trapped under the rubble or lying in the streets, with emergency and civil defense crews unable to reach them due to the intensity of the strikes.
