Watan-Medical and Palestinian sources reported on Sunday that five journalists were martyred, along with several members of their families, in intense Israeli airstrikes amid the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
According to the sources, the strikes were carried out early Sunday morning and targeted homes and tents of displaced people in various areas across Gaza, killing five journalists, including a female reporter.
The martyred journalists were identified as:
-
Abdul Rahman Al-Abadleh
-
Khaled Abu Seif
-
Aziz Al-Hajjar
-
Ahmad Al-Zaynaty
-
Noor Qandil
The Palestinian Media Center reported: “Journalist Noor Qandil, her husband, and their daughter were killed in an Israeli strike on their home in the Bashara neighborhood of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.”
Family sources confirmed that journalist Abdul Rahman Tawfiq Al-Abadleh was martyred following an Israeli strike on the town of Al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Younis.
According to the Center, Aziz Al-Hajjar was killed along with his wife and children in a strike that hit their home in Be’er Al-Na’ja, north of Gaza.
These attacks further underscore the dangers faced by Palestinian media workers and civilians alike, as Israel continues its large-scale military assault on Gaza.
