Watan-U.S. President Donald Trump announced today, Tuesday, that he will lift all sanctions imposed on Syria, stating that while they served an important role, the time has come for Syria to move forward.
Speaking at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum in Riyadh, Trump said: “I will order the lifting of sanctions on Syria to give it a chance to shine.”

He added, “It’s time for Syria to shine. We will end all (sanctions). Good luck, Syria—show us something truly remarkable.”
A White House official had earlier confirmed on Tuesday that Trump had agreed to meet with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
