U.S. Envoy: Israel Will Not Distribute Gaza Aid, But Will Handle Security

Ambassador Mike Huckabee says aid flow to Gaza is not tied to a ceasefire, with anonymous donors and private security firms managing the operation under international law.

Watan-U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated on Friday that Israel will not participate in distributing humanitarian aid to Gaza but will be responsible for providing security.

Israel has imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip since March.

During a press conference, Huckabee confirmed that the delivery of aid is not contingent on reaching a ceasefire.

He added: “Several partners have agreed on a mechanism to distribute aid in Gaza. Some donors have pledged funding but prefer to remain anonymous at this stage.”

The ambassador emphasized that former President Donald Trump wants food distribution in Gaza to be conducted safely and efficiently.

When asked about the rules of engagement for the private security firms involved, Huckabee declined to provide details but said all procedures would comply with international humanitarian law.
