Watan-Tensions in the West Bank have surged following the assassination of Palestinian resistance fighter Abdul Rahman Abu Al-Muna by the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces. This was not the first such incident, but it marks a dangerous shift, as Mahmoud Abbas’s forces are no longer just coordinating with Israeli occupation—they are now directly carrying out assassinations of Palestinian fighters.
Jenin woke up to a gruesome crime committed by PA security forces, who surrounded Abu Al-Muna near Al-Naseem Roundabout using civilian vehicles, shot him at close range, and left him bleeding to death at the hospital. Nicknamed “Dinaine”, Abu Al-Muna was a prominent fighter who had defied the Israeli occupation, yet he fell to PA bullets before Israeli ones.
PA Justifications: Security Coordination at Its Ugliest
Attempting to justify the assassination, the PA security apparatus labeled Abu Al-Muna a “lawbreaker,” the same pretext it uses when arresting or executing Palestinian resistance fighters. However, this narrative has convinced no one—Palestinian factions have denounced the PA, accusing it of acting as an extension of the Israeli occupation, suppressing resistance on its behalf.
Public Backlash: The PA Serves the Occupation!
The killing sparked an outpouring of fury among Palestinians, both on the streets and on social media.
- Hamas called the assassination a dangerous escalation, accusing the PA of shedding Palestinian blood for the benefit of Israel.
- Islamic Jihad condemned the killing as proof of the PA’s complicity in Israel’s agenda.
- The Committee for Political Prisoners’ Families in the West Bank labeled the execution a heinous crime, exposing the PA’s collusion with Israel.
The outrage has led to a major campaign against PA-Israel security coordination, with many Palestinians questioning how long Abbas will continue hunting down his own people.
How Long Will Abbas Keep Killing His Own People?
As Palestinians endure Israeli massacres in Gaza and the West Bank, Abbas’s authority continues to act as Israel’s enforcer, hunting and executing resistance fighters. The question remains: Has the Palestinian Authority officially become an arm of the Israeli occupation? And how long will Abbas remain a willing tool in the hands of the enemy?
