Watan-A poll conducted in the United States revealed that 64% of Americans oppose their president Donald Trump’s plan to seize control of Gaza and forcibly displace Palestinians from the territory.
The survey, carried out by the American organization Data for Progress, asked 1,200 American voters between February 8 and 9 about their views on Trump’s plan to take over Gaza.
Participants in the poll, the results of which were published on Wednesday, were informed that Trump’s plan includes forcibly displacing Palestinians living in Gaza and resettling them in neighboring countries.
Sixty-four percent of respondents opposed the U.S. takeover of Gaza.
Among them, 47% said they “strongly oppose” the plan, while 17% said they oppose it “partially.”
Opposition to the plan was expressed by 85% of Democrats, 63% of independents, and 43% of Republicans.
Additionally, 69% of respondents said they oppose the U.S. sending troops to the Middle East.
