Gaza Under Attack: Israeli Bombing Claims 14 Lives on Eid al-Fitr

The Palestinian Media Center reported, citing its correspondent, that Israeli warplanes bombed the house of the “Abu Yousef” family on the last day of Ramadan and hours before Eid al-Fitr, resulting in the deaths of 14 martyrs and many injuries.

The martyrs and the injured were taken to Abu Yousef al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah after the Israeli bombardment. Ambulance and civil defense teams confirmed that they were still searching for missing persons under the rubble, as the bombing completely destroyed the house and caused extensive damage to the homes of civilians.

A video clip filmed by activist Mahmoud al-Louh showed a young man carrying an injured child, while others carried what appeared to be the lifeless body of one of the victims. A child’s voice can be heard saying, “Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs,” and the body of a child is seen placed at the door of a health center.

This bombing comes despite international warnings of the danger of launching a military operation on the densely populated city where displaced people sought refuge, considering it their last haven.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in tens of thousands of civilian casualties, mostly children and women, as well as an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure.
