According to the stance of the Israeli judicial advisor, it is possible to close Al Jazeera in Israel without granting the channel the right to respond to Israeli allegations against it, despite legal challenges in such a process, as Bahar Miara herself wrote in a memorandum to the legal advisor of the Israeli Ministry of Communications.<\/p>\n
This move comes against the backdrop of Al Jazeera’s extensive coverage of the Israeli war on Gaza and its monitoring of war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n
The Likud party, led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, opposed the enactment of a law allowing restrictions on social media networks, but only on television channels.<\/p>\n
