Watan-The American newspaper “The New York Times” published a report documenting the failure of the Israeli occupation army in its current war on the Gaza Strip and its failure to achieve any of its objectives.<\/p>\n

The report came on the eve of the end of 200 days of war, under the title “The Harsh Reality of Israel’s Fight in Gaza.”<\/p>\n

The newspaper said that Israel had failed to achieve its two main goals of the war on Gaza, in light of estimates by American and Israeli officials about the ability of the Islamic resistance movement “Hamas” to reorganize its ranks.<\/p>\n

It added that Israel had failed to achieve its two main goals, which are the destruction of Hamas and the release of detainees, while the suffering of Palestinians had led to the erosion of diplomatic support for Israel even among its allies.<\/p>\n

Resistance has forces on and below the ground<\/h3>\n

The newspaper quoted Israeli officials as saying that Hamas and other Palestinian factions still have many forces both above and below ground.<\/p>\n

Some Israeli officials expect it to take several years to eliminate Hamas, despite their claim that the war led to the dismantling of 19 out of the movement’s 24 brigades and the killing of up to 13,000 members.<\/p>\n

The report also quoted current and former American officials as saying that the tunnels<\/a> in Gaza will allow Hamas to survive and reorganize itself as soon as the fighting stops.<\/p>\n

The newspaper noted that despite what it called “heavy losses” suffered by the movement, a large part of its senior leadership in Gaza remains resilient inside the tunnel network and operation centers.<\/p>\n

American officials and analysts believe that the speed of Hamas’s rebuilding will depend on Israel’s decisions in the next stages of and after the war.<\/p>\n
