Watan-Hundreds of Palestinians flocked to the beach of Deir al-Balah in the midst of Gaza, to seize moments of joy and enjoy the sea atmosphere after months of siege, death, and displacement. Their sentiment echoes the words of the late poet Mahmoud Darwish: “And we love life if we can find a way to it.”<\/p>\n
The video that widely circulated appeared to shock Israelis who had deluded themselves into thinking they had broken the will of Gaza’s residents through their aggression, massacres, and continuous siege since October last year.<\/p>\n
The footage captured from above showed hundreds of Palestinians, men, women, and children, frolicking in the beach waters, while young men played football nearby.<\/p>\n
The Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported that the Israeli army conducted maneuvers in most areas of the Gaza Strip but had not yet entered the city of Deir al-Balah.<\/p>\n
