The global magazine selected Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, among its top 100 most influential figures in the world for this year, citing his role in “the turbulent negotiations between the Hamas resistance movement and the Israeli occupation,” as well as his mediation in other conflict zones, including South America.<\/p>\n
The magazine’s report pointed out that the Arab Gulf states have flourished by providing oil and gas to the world, generating wealth that fuels the desire to compete on the international stage.<\/p>\n
The small geographically, yet significant Qatar, showcased its hosting of the 2022 World Cup, demonstrating the attention it could attract. A year later, it gained more substantial importance, emerging as a trusted mediator between Israel and Hamas.<\/p>\n
The source added that “Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani” focused, in his capacity as Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, on the turbulent negotiations, resulting in a ceasefire for a week and the release of more than 100 prisoners so far.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani is a Qatari politician, serving as Prime Minister since March 7, 2023, and Foreign Minister since January 27, 2016, born on November 1, 1980. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the College of Management and Economics at Qatar University in 2003.<\/p>\n
In 2003, he joined the Family Affairs Council as an economic researcher and assumed the role of Director of Economic Affairs.<\/p>\n
In 2010, he was appointed as the Secretary to the Personal Representative of the Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, for Follow-up Affairs in the Amiri Diwan, and in the same year, he served as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Mining Company.<\/p>\n
He also served as a board member of the Qatar Development Bank and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Company and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aspire Katara Investment Company.<\/p>\n
In 2012, he obtained the rank of Ministry Undersecretary and served as Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Affairs in 2013, and on January 27, 2016, he was appointed as the Foreign Minister, known for his role in reconciliation with Egypt.<\/p>\n
On November 15, 2017, he was appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister in addition to his position as Foreign Minister, holding the position until his appointment as Prime Minister.<\/p>\n
