This amount represents 10% of the country&#8217;s international reserves.<\/p>\n<p>The report pointed out that the Suez <a href=\"https:\/\/www.watanserb.com\/en\/2024\/01\/10\/egypts-alleged-suez-canal-sell-off-examining-president-el-sisis-controversial-financial-scheme\/\">Canal<\/a> is a major source of foreign currency for Egypt, with its revenues reaching $8.8 billion (25% of the country&#8217;s international reserves) in the past fiscal year.
