Watan-The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation revealed that the occupation government canceled at the last moment its response to the Iranian attack launched by Tehran, after a phone call between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

The Broadcasting Corporation stated that the response to the Iranian attack was canceled at the last moment after a phone call between Netanyahu and Biden.<\/p>\n

It added that the absolute majority in the War Council and the Cabinet supported an immediate response with a direct attack on Iranian territory, but the phone conversation between Biden and Netanyahu changed the decision that had already been made.<\/p>\n

It pointed out that the security establishment in Israel still supports a response to the Iranian attack, but not necessarily immediately.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the War Council in the government held a meeting at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Tel Aviv to discuss ways to respond to the Iranian attack, but no official statement was immediately issued about its results.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet authorized both Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister in the War Council Benny Gantz to determine how Israel should respond to the retaliatory Iranian attack.<\/p>\n

This comes at a time when calls have escalated within the Israeli right-wing government for an immediate response to the Iranian attack.<\/p>\n

Iran<\/a> had launched around 350 missiles and drones towards Israel, while the occupation authorities claimed to have intercepted 99% of them with the help of “strategic partner” countries before they entered Israeli territory.<\/p>\n

The Iranian attack, the first of its kind carried out by Tehran from its own territory on Israel and not through proxies, came in retaliation for the Israeli missile attack on the Iranian consulate section in its embassy in Damascus at the beginning of April, which resulted in the killing of 7 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, including the prominent General Mohammad Reza Zahedi.<\/p>\n

Israel has not officially acknowledged the assassination of Zahedi, but it has also not denied responsibility for the assassination.<\/p>\n

Israeli Prime Minister Isaac Herzog described the Iranian attack as a “declaration of war,” while the extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said, “There must be a strong response to the Iranian attack.”<\/p>\n
