Watan-Hebrew media outlets have confirmed that instructions have been issued to the Israeli negotiation team in Qatar, not to agree to a ceasefire as part of a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas being discussed through Qatari and Egyptian mediators in Doha.<\/p>\n

Sources announced that the sensitive issue currently is the ceasefire. The initial proposal presented by Hamas to the mediators was to establish a ceasefire in exchange for the release of civilian prisoners.<\/p>\n

Mossad chief David Barnea returned to Qatar on Tuesday evening after briefing the War Council on the current first round of negotiations with Hamas in Doha.<\/p>\n

According to the channel, the proposal presented in Qatar to cease fire includes a six-week ceasefire in exchange for the release of approximately 40 Israeli prisoners.<\/p>\n

International Guarantees<\/h3>\n

Osama Hamdan, a Hamas leader, announced today, Wednesday, that the mediators conveyed Israel’s position on the proposal presented by Hamas<\/a> last week, indicating that the response was generally negative.<\/p>\n

Earlier, a representative of Hamas in Lebanon, Ahmed Abdel Hadi, confirmed to Arab media outlets that the resistance cannot agree to any deal without international guarantees and a clear commitment to stop Israeli aggression on Gaza.<\/p>\n

According to him, Hamas this time provided details of its vision regarding the prisoner issue, on the condition that there are guarantees, indicating that the issue is now in the arena of the Israeli entity and the United States.<\/p>\n
