In a recent social media stir, a video showcasing what’s described as the “world’s most expensive falcon hood” has ignited a debate among Qataris about the line between preserving cultural heritage and excessive opulence. The hood, made of gold, is priced at a staggering $25,000.<\/p>\n

Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al-Jaber, a Qatari social activist and training consultant, took to social media to voice his concerns about such extravagant displays, especially in the context of falconry exhibitions. He commented on the viral video, questioning whether the bird recognizes its value or if it’s merely a symbol of ostentation. Al-Jaber expressed his disapproval of such wastefulness and called for increased awareness in this area, especially concerning hunting and falconry exhibitions.<\/p>\n

The video was taken during the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition, which began recently and aims to preserve Qatar’s cultural and environmental heritage. The exhibition, which will run until September 9th, has seen significant participation from around 200 local, regional, and international companies specializing in hunting weapons, falconry equipment, and excursions.<\/p>\n

In the video, a person unveils the luxurious hood, initially stating its price as 25,000 Riyals, only to correct himself later, confirming the price as 25,000 US Dollars. Another individual in the video points out that the hood contains 18 pearls and is gold-encrusted.<\/p>\n

Qataris have expressed mixed reactions to this display of luxury. Some believe that such items are more for show and promotional purposes, with few actually purchasing them. Others, however, view it as a sign of wastefulness and a departure from traditional values.<\/p>\n
