“Fauda: Explosive Lab” is an escape room in Tel Aviv, based on the controversial Israeli Netflix series Fauda. Participants pay to pretend they are Israeli agents sent to Gaza, according to the “forward” website.<\/p>\n
The game requires them to disguise themselves as Palestinians and make their way to a filming location simulating Shifa Hospital in Gaza.<\/p>\n
In a fictional version of the hospital’s emergency room, players use fake guns to shoot at fake Palestinian fighters attacking them through the windows.<\/p>\n
From there, players must enter a tunnel beneath the simulated Shifa, where their mission is to neutralize a chemical bomb aimed at Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n
The real Shifa Hospital in Gaza was subjected to an Israeli siege lasting several days in November, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, including the tragic deaths of infant children.<\/p>\n Since then, the hospital has faced further attacks. According to a report from M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res in late January, the hospital “suffered severe damage and is barely functioning.”<\/p>\n Despite the Israeli army claiming since October that Hamas maintains a command and control center beneath Shifa, it has failed to substantiate this.<\/p>\n There’s a lot to say about a start-up culture that continually innovates new grotesques.
