In a conversation with the “Inside Washington” program on “Alhurra” channel, the American official explained that the elements of normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia exist, and his country understands this matter.<\/p>\n
Sullivan emphasized that Saudi-American normalization is possible, should happen, and must happen, emphasizing that the United States will work every day to ensure its achievement.<\/p>\n
In a clear indication in this regard, Jake Sullivan pointed to the “possibility” of signing a peace agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, without specifying a particular date.<\/p>\n
Recently, Reuters reported, citing informed sources, that Saudi Arabia would be prepared to accept a political commitment from Israel to establish a Palestinian state in exchange for normalization<\/a>, in an attempt to obtain approval for a defense agreement with Washington before the U.S. presidential elections.<\/p>\n Two regional sources told the agency that Saudi officials informed their American counterparts that Riyadh would not insist on Israel taking tangible steps towards establishing a Palestinian state and would instead accept a political commitment to the two-state solution.<\/p>\n
