The American president has made a decision regarding the nature of the response to the Jordan attack and stated that he is working to avoid a broader war in the region, saying, “We do not want a wider war in the Middle East.”<\/p>\n

Biden mentioned, “We briefed members of the National Security team in the operations room yesterday on the latest developments related to the attack on American soldiers in northeast Jordan. As I have previously confirmed, we will hold all those responsible accountable at the appropriate time and in the manner we choose.”<\/p>\n

President Joe Biden had pledged to respond “appropriately” after a drone attack on Sunday led to the killing of three American military personnel at a base in Jordan<\/a> near the Syrian border, accusing armed factions of being behind the attack.<\/p>\n

The White House spokesperson stated on Monday that the United States is working on responding “appropriately” to the attack.<\/p>\n

The U.S. National Security Advisor, John Kirby, said in an interview with CNN that President Biden will respond to the attack on Sunday in an appropriate manner, adding, “But we do not seek a war with Iran. We do not want a broader conflict in the Middle East.”<\/p>\n

Biden met with members of the National Security team on Monday, including Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, and Brett McGurk, his advisor for Middle East affairs, to discuss the situation.<\/p>\n
