Watan<\/strong><\/em>-UK Health Minister Wes Streeting responded to criticism from the Israeli Embassy in London over chants shouted during the famous Glastonbury Festival, calling them \u201cunacceptable\u201d \u2014 but emphasized that \u201cIsrael needs to deal with its own problems first.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking during a program broadcast by the BBC, Streeting addressed the Israeli Embassy’s objections to the chants heard at the Glastonbury Festival held in Somerset, southwest England.<\/p>\n

UK Minister Labels Settlers as \u201cTerrorists\u201d<\/h3>\n

When asked about the embassy\u2019s statement, which claimed the Glastonbury incident \u201craises questions about glorifying violence,\u201d Streeting replied:\u201cI view this as a challenge, and I don\u2019t think anyone should be applauding what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, he added a sharp rebuke aimed at Israeli officials:\u201cBut I also want to say to the Israeli Embassy\u2014deal with your problems first. What the Israeli settler terrorists did in the West Bank this week shouldn\u2019t just be condemned; it should be acted upon. Israel cannot keep turning a blind eye when such actions are committed by its own citizens against Palestinians, while taking a zero-tolerance stance when they target Israelis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the \u201cdeath to the Israeli army\u201d chant heard at Glastonbury as \u201chorrific hate speech.\u201d<\/p>\n

He urged the BBC to clarify how such footage was aired.<\/p>\n

The chant in question was led by rapper Bobby Vylan, a member of the rap duo \u201cBob Vylan,\u201d during a performance Saturday on the West Holts Stage. The crowd joined in chants of \u201cFreedom, freedom for Palestine\u201d and \u201cDeath, death to the Israeli army.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement Sunday, Starmer said:\u201cThere is no justification for this kind of horrific hate speech.\u201d<\/p>\n
