Watan<\/strong><\/em>-The White House announced on Thursday that President Donald Trump will make a decision within the next two weeks on whether the United States will intervene in the ongoing Israel-Iran war.<\/p>\n

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, speaking to reporters, shared a message from President Trump:\u201cBased on the fact that there\u2019s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leavitt emphasized that while Trump is interested in pursuing a diplomatic solution, his top priority is preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.<\/p>\n

She added that any potential agreement with Iran must include a ban on uranium enrichment and a clear end to its nuclear weapons capabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president is always interested in diplomacy\u2026 He is the great peacemaker. He believes in peace through strength,\u201d Leavitt said. \u201cIf there\u2019s a diplomatic opportunity, he\u2019ll take it \u2014 but he\u2019s not afraid to use force either.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leavitt declined to say whether Trump would seek congressional authorization for any future strikes on Iran.<\/p>\n

Background: War Escalation Between Israel and Iran<\/h3>\n

Since the early hours of June 13, 2025, Israel has launched a massive U.S.-backed assault on Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, and top military commanders and nuclear scientists. Iran responded with waves of ballistic missiles and drones aimed at deep targets inside Israel \u2014 marking the most direct confrontation between the two countries to date.<\/p>\n
