Watan<\/strong><\/em>-Hezbollah responded Thursday to former U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s threat to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, calling the statement \u201creckless and foolish\u201d and warning of \u201cgrave consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an official statement, Hezbollah said:\u201cSome who hold power in their countries clearly do not understand the immense spiritual and political stature of the great leader and jurist, Imam Ali Khamenei\u2014not just in Iran, but across the Islamic and free world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hezbollah denounced the threat, stating:\u201cThe very utterance of such a threat is an insult to hundreds of millions of believers, supporters of Islam, dignity, and resistance. It is both shameful and condemned in the strongest terms.\u201d<\/p>\n

The party declared unwavering loyalty:\u201cToday we are more determined to follow the path of the great leader Khamenei and to stand firmly with him and the heroic Iranian people in resisting the American-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hezbollah concluded:\u201cMillions of free people standing with Khamenei cannot be defeated\u2014even if the world\u2019s tyrants and criminals unite. The triumph of resistance is inevitable, and the defeat of falsehood is certain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Notably, the statement did not include any direct threat or declaration of military involvement in the current Iran-Israel confrontation, despite speculation by some Iranian officials that Hezbollah might intervene if the U.S. escalates militarily.<\/p>\n

Lebanese Backlash: Sovereignty at Stake<\/h3>\n

In response to Hezbollah’s stance and Iran\u2019s narrative, the Lebanese group \u201cIndependent Southerners\u201d issued a strong condemnation. They accused Iran of treating Lebanon as a battlefield and the Shiite community as a political asset.<\/p>\n

Their statement read:\u201cThese remarks represent a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and a humiliation to the dignity of all Lebanese, particularly the Shiite community.\u201d<\/p>\n

They added:\u201cIran\u2019s comments reflect a colonial mindset, using Lebanon as a zone of influence and the Shiites as private property sacrificed in wars that serve Iranian\u2014not Lebanese\u2014interests.\u201d<\/p>\n
