Her official account on X (formerly Twitter) also shared leaked messages from fellow activists detained aboard the \u201cMaddalena\u201d ship, currently imprisoned in several Israeli jails.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-8\" data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1371\">The messages, originating from various prisons in the Ramla area (northwest of Jerusalem), confirm\u2014according to Hassan\u2014that she began a hunger strike to protest her solitary confinement after she wrote &#8220;Free Palestine&#8221; on her cell wall. She becomes the second activist from the group to do so, following Brazilian activist Thiago \u00c1vila.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-9\" data-start=\"1373\" data-end=\"1667\">Motasem Zaidan, media spokesperson for the Adalah Legal Center, previously told Al-Quds Al-Arabi that Israeli authorities transferred Hassan to a \u201cvery dirty and small isolation cell in Neve Tirza prison (a women\u2019s facility)\u201d after the incident, before relocating her again to Givon Prison.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"ai-optimize-17\" data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"121\"><strong data-start=\"22\" data-end=\"119\">Leaked Letters from Freedom Flotilla Activists Condemn Israeli &#8220;Piracy&#8221; and Urge EU Sanctions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-10\" data-start=\"1669\" data-end=\"1908\">\u00c1vila was reportedly moved to Ayalon Prison and also placed in solitary confinement for continuing his hunger and water strike, which he started two days earlier in protest of the Israeli seizure of the Freedom Flotilla ship Maddalena.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-11\" data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"2013\">In a leaked letter, French activist and journalist Yanis Mohamedi wrote: \u201cJournalism is not a crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-12\" data-start=\"2015\" data-end=\"2302\">Another French detainee, Pascal Maur\u00e9ras, said in his message:\u201cGreetings from Israeli prisons! We were intercepted aboard the Maddalena 110 nautical miles from Gaza\u2019s coast, well within international waters. This is an act of piracy.
