Watan<\/strong> <\/em>– In a significant move, Sudan’s top leaders are meeting in Jeddah, with Saudi Arabia playing a key role. Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, head of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, and Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, better known as “Hemedti” and leader of the Rapid Support Forces, are central to these talks.<\/p>\n

Confidential sources, as quoted by the UAE-backed “Al-Arab” newspaper in London, indicated that both “Burhan” and “Hemedti” discreetly made their way to Saudi Arabia recently. Their mission? To broker a ceasefire and devise a strategy, under the patronage of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.<\/p>\n

This secret meeting, kept under wraps by both Saudi and Sudanese officials, comes after a break in earlier Jeddah talks supported by Saudi Arabia and the U.S.<\/p>\n

A few months ago, these talks were paused due to repeated ceasefire violations. However, both nations have since shown their commitment to ending the conflict and tackling urgent humanitarian issues.<\/p>\n

While the details of the talks between “Burhan” and “Hemedti” are still private, their joint presence in Saudi Arabia is a strong sign. It hints at a possible ceasefire and a new plan to end the current conflict.<\/p>\n

In a recent BBC interview, Abdul Fattah al-Burhan expressed his willingness to talk with “Hemedti” to end the ongoing unrest in Sudan. He stressed the need for the Rapid Support Forces to protect civilians, a commitment both sides made in past Jeddah talks.<\/p>\n

Burhan said, “If these rebel leaders want to pull back from civilian areas and go back to their bases, we’re open to talking.<\/p>\n
