Watan<\/strong><\/em>-The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor confirmed that the Israeli army\u2019s bombing of a UNRWA-run health center in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza constitutes a \u201cfull-fledged mass killing crime,\u201d adding to the series of deliberate massacres carried out by Israel against Palestinian civilians as part of what it called an \u201congoing genocide.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a press statement, the Monitor said that around 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday, the Israeli army targeted the health center, which was sheltering hundreds of displaced persons, killing 22 people, including 16 children, women, and elderly, and injuring dozens more. The organization emphasized that the attack fits into a systematic Israeli policy of intentionally targeting civilian gatherings, aiming for mass extermination to cause the highest possible number of casualties among defenseless populations in a calculated effort to erase Palestinian presence from Gaza.<\/p>\n

The statement clarified that the UNRWA health center was being used as a shelter for displaced families at the time of the attack. The Israeli army struck the building from both the north and south sides of the first floor, sparking large fires and causing mass casualties. The report accused Israel of using highly destructive weaponry in a densely populated civilian area, mostly comprised of children, indicating a premeditated intent to commit a massacre.<\/p>\n

The Monitor added that its field team, which visited the site immediately after the bombing and conducted a preliminary on-site survey, found no evidence of any military presence in or around the location. Witnesses also confirmed the absence of armed groups or military equipment.<\/p>\n

Euro-Med stated that Israel repeatedly uses the same unverified claim\u2014that it is targeting \u201cmilitants\u201d\u2014whenever international public opinion reacts to its crimes, without offering any credible or verifiable evidence, nor allowing independent bodies to examine the sites in question.<\/p>\n

Survivors of the massacre provided heartbreaking testimonies. Suad Mohammed Zahir, a displaced woman who had sought shelter at the clinic with her family after their home was destroyed, said:\u201cWe were seeking safety in the clinic after renewed evacuation orders. It was crowded with hundreds of displaced people, mostly women and children. I was cooking when I heard two massive explosions.<\/p>\n

The entire clinic shook. Stones, shrapnel, and dust flew everywhere. I couldn\u2019t see anything through the smoke, but I could hear screaming from every corner. Minutes later, people began pulling bodies from the rubble\u2014most of them children.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other survivors described the first moments of the strike. Ghada Obaid (30 years old) said:\u201cI saw children\u2019s limbs scattered, women with crushed heads, others who lost their legs. Members of my extended family\u2014al-Faluja, Imad, Aleyan, and Abu Sa\u2019da\u2014were all killed in a single moment.\u201dShe continued:
\u201cThere were no armed men in the clinic\u2014just families trying to find safety amid the death chasing us everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another survivor, who requested anonymity, stated:\u201cThe clinic was packed with women and children. I had made connections with several displaced families, including the Abu Sa\u2019da and Aleyan families. After the strike, I identified nine members of the Abu Sa\u2019da family and five from the Aleyan family among the dead\u2014most of them children\u2014along with many other victims on the same floor. There was no military presence, just displaced civilians fleeing bombardment, and yet even UN shelters are being bombed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Euro-Med Monitor stressed that Israel is implementing a \u201cscorched earth\u201d policy against the people of Gaza, showing no regard for international law or humanitarian agreements, amid unacceptable global silence and inaction. It called for urgent, tangible measures to stop the massacres and provide immediate protection to unarmed civilians, emphasizing that Israel bears legal responsibility to refrain from any military action if the expected civilian casualties outweigh the anticipated military advantage. Failing to do so constitutes a war crime\u2014as is clearly the case here.<\/p>\n

The organization concluded that Israel\u2019s consistent pattern of killings indicates a deliberate policy aimed at eradicating Palestinian civilians, spreading fear, denying them shelter or stability, and forcing repeated displacement while subjecting them to life-threatening conditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
