Watan<\/strong><\/em>-Tensions in the West Bank have surged following the assassination of Palestinian resistance fighter Abdul Rahman Abu Al-Muna by the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces. This was not the first such incident, but it marks a dangerous shift, as Mahmoud Abbas\u2019s forces are no longer just coordinating with Israeli occupation\u2014they are now directly carrying out assassinations of Palestinian fighters.<\/p>\n

Jenin woke up to a gruesome crime committed by PA security forces, who surrounded Abu Al-Muna near Al-Naseem Roundabout using civilian vehicles, shot him at close range, and left him bleeding to death at the hospital. Nicknamed \u201cDinaine\u201d, Abu Al-Muna was a prominent fighter who had defied the Israeli occupation, yet he fell to PA bullets before Israeli ones.<\/p>\n

PA Justifications: Security Coordination at Its Ugliest<\/h4>\n

Attempting to justify the assassination, the PA security apparatus labeled Abu Al-Muna a “lawbreaker,” the same pretext it uses when arresting or executing Palestinian resistance fighters. However, this narrative has convinced no one\u2014Palestinian factions have denounced the PA, accusing it of acting as an extension of the Israeli occupation, suppressing resistance on its behalf.<\/p>\n

The killing sparked an outpouring of fury among Palestinians, both on the streets and on social media.<\/p>\n
