Watan<\/strong><\/em>-As the ceasefire takes effect in Gaza, horrific crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces continue to surface. Among the most brutal is the execution of an elderly Palestinian man and his wife in Gaza\u2019s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, after he was reportedly used as a human shield for hours before being brutally killed.<\/p>\n

Explosives Around His Neck & 8 Hours as a Human Shield<\/h3>\n

According to Palestinian and media sources, Israeli forces\u2014including the Nahal Brigade, Karmeli Brigade, and Multi-Dimensional Unit\u2014stormed Al-Zaytoun and detained the elderly man and his wife from their home. Unable to flee due to their age and lack of safe alternatives, they were taken by force.<\/p>\n

Instead of releasing them, a senior officer from the Nahal Brigade reportedly strapped an explosive belt around the elderly man\u2019s neck, warning him that any wrong move would trigger detonation. He was then forced to walk ahead of Israeli soldiers as a human shield for eight consecutive hours, inspecting homes before they entered to ensure there were no resistance fighters or explosives inside.<\/p>\n

Cold-Blooded Execution<\/h3>\n

After hours of forced use as a human shield, the elderly<\/a> man and his wife were ordered to leave the area and head south. However, just 100 meters away, another Israeli unit opened fire on them in cold blood, killing them instantly.<\/p>\n

This crime is part of the Israeli<\/a> army\u2019s widespread use of human shields, a tactic documented by international human rights organizations and classified as a war crime under international humanitarian law.<\/p>\n
