Watan<\/strong><\/em>-The Al-Aqsa Flood operation, launched by the Palestinian resistance led by Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023, resulted in the resignation of several senior officials in the Israeli occupation army.<\/p>\n

On February 8, 2024, the head of the Research Division in Military Intelligence resigned due to his failure to interpret information related to the Gaza Strip before the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.<\/p>\n

On April 22, 2024, Israeli Military <\/a>Intelligence chief Aharon Haliva announced his resignation, taking responsibility for the failures of October 7, 2023.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Gaza Division commander Avi Rosenfeld resigned on June 9, 2024, due to the division’s failure to repel the attack and the occupation of its headquarters by the elite Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.<\/p>\n

On July 11, 2024, the head of the Southern Region of the Israeli internal security service, Shin Bet, announced his resignation for failing to handle the attack effectively.<\/p>\n

Intelligence Failures<\/h3>\n

The list also included the intelligence officer of the Gaza Division, who resigned on August 29, 2024, after being accused of ignoring reports of unusual movements by Al-Qassam prior to October 7, 2023, according to Israeli public broadcaster Kan.<\/p>\n

In early September 2024, Major General Yossi Sharell, commander of the Intelligence Unit 8200, resigned after his unit failed to provide early warnings about the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.<\/p>\n
