Israeli Army Spokesman Targets Al Jazeera Reporter Amid Gaza War
Anas Al-Sharif Accuses Israel of Trying to Silence Journalists After Losing His Father in Airstrike.
Watan-In a new escalation against Palestinian journalists, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee launched an inciting attack on Anas Al-Sharif, Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Gaza, accusing him of being “part of a false media machine.”
But Al-Sharif did not remain silent. He responded by saying this latest targeting is part of a deliberate campaign to silence him, stating:“Since the start of this war, the Israeli army and its affiliates have not stopped threatening me. It began with threats, then direct shelling. They didn’t stop there—they targeted my family, and my father was martyred.”
Al-Sharif added that the reason for this incitement is his firsthand coverage from the field:I document massacres. I expose genocide, starvation, displacement, and destruction. I show what the occupation is trying to hide.”
