Exploiting Confusion: Palestinian Resistance Strategies and Israeli War Council Disarray
Watan-Military and strategic expert Brigadier General Fayez Al-Douri revealed how the Palestinian resistance exploited the state of confusion prevailing within the Israeli War Council, which intensified in recent days.
Al-Douri stated in his analysis on Al-Jazeera channel that the Palestinian resistance effectively took advantage of the turmoil within the Israeli occupying forces resulting from internal disputes within the War Council.
He added that the effects of this disagreement became evident in the northern region of the Gaza Strip, where there was clear confusion in the army’s management of the battle. This occurred amid a lack of political clarity and discussions about transitioning to the third phase before retracting from that decision once again.
The Israeli army in a state of confusion
He clarified that this situation placed the leaders of the Israeli occupation army, at both the highest command level and the field commanders, in a state of confusion. Orders for withdrawal were issued, followed by orders to return once again.
Al-Douri pointed out that the Palestinian resistance exploited this situation, causing significant losses to the Israeli occupation forces in the past few days.
The Palestinian resistance has adopted tactical approaches, as confirmed by Al-Dweiri, who emphasized that the resistance has employed new tactical approaches in terms of coordination and joint action. This was evident in the new video clips, showcasing various types of ambushes, luring techniques, and other tactics.
A Military Analysis of the Situation in the Southern Gaza Strip
Regarding the situation in the southern Gaza Strip, the military expert pointed out that the Israeli army deployed the Eighth Brigade, bringing the total forces to approximately three divisions. Despite the increased density in the number of vehicles and soldiers, the expert, Al-Dweiri, noted that the Israeli forces did not achieve accomplishments commensurate with this strength and number, highlighting a clear disparity in capabilities between the two sides.
He explained that what assisted the resistance in sustaining the fight against this density was the management of the defensive battle, the ability to utilize available resources, and the ability to engage the enemy at the right and appropriate times, creating repeated surprises for the occupying forces.
It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation army acknowledged an increase in its casualties to 509 since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip, including 172 since the start of the ground operation in Gaza on October 27th.
Disabilities in the Ranks of the Occupation Army
It has been previously estimated by the Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” that the Israeli Ministry of Defense predicts a 20% increase in the number of disabled individuals in the army due to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
The newspaper reported that the number of army casualties since October 7th of the previous year is unprecedented in the history of the occupation state. Official figures indicate 2,300 soldiers, but those on the ground have a different opinion.
The same newspaper had previously highlighted that the rehabilitation department in the occupation army is dealing with 3,400 soldiers classified as disabled since October 7th of the previous year.
