Israeli Opposition Leader Condemns “Violent Jewish Massacre” in West Bank Village
Yair Golan slams settler attacks in Kafr Malik and accuses Netanyahu’s government of encouraging extremist violence
Watan-Israeli opposition leader and head of the “Democrats” party, Yair Golan, described Wednesday evening’s events in the Palestinian village of Kafr Malik, located in the central occupied West Bank, as a “violent Jewish massacre.”
Earlier that day, the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that three Palestinians were killed and seven others injured due to a settler assault on Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah.
In a post on his account on X (formerly Twitter), Golan wrote:“What happened this evening in Kafr Malik is a violent Jewish massacre. Dozens of attackers burned homes and cars, assaulted Palestinians and security forces alike.”
He emphasized that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government will neither condemn nor prevent such settler crimes, adding:“On the contrary, it continues to support and encourage the violent gangs operating in Palestinian areas. It’s only a matter of time before these gangs act inside Israel proper.”
Settlers Torch Homes as Israeli Army Kills 3 Palestinians in Kafr Malik
On Wednesday evening, Israel’s state broadcaster quoted an unnamed security source saying:“Settlers arrived in Kafr Malik near Ramallah, set buildings and vehicles on fire, clashed with residents, sprayed graffiti on walls, and injured ten Palestinians by throwing stones.”
The source added that an Israeli military unit arrived at the scene and opened fire, killing three Palestinians and wounding others.
A military investigation is underway to determine why soldiers opened fire on Palestinians who had just been attacked by settlers.
According to data from the Palestinian government’s Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli settlers carried out 415 attacks in the West Bank in May 2025 alone. These included armed assaults on Palestinian villages, land seizures, field executions, destruction of property, and road closures.
Escalating West Bank Violence Mirrors Ongoing Genocide in Gaza
Alongside Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza, the Israeli military and settlers have escalated attacks in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. According to Palestinian data, this has resulted in at least 986 Palestinian deaths, nearly 7,000 injuries, and over 17,500 arrests.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a genocidal war in Gaza marked by mass killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement. It continues despite international outcry and rulings from the International Court of Justice ordering a halt.
The war, with American backing, has resulted in more than 188,000 Palestinian casualties—mostly women and children—over 11,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and widespread famine killing even more, including children.
For decades, Israel has occupied lands in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, refusing to withdraw or allow the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the pre-1967 borders.
