Fatal Shooting at Ayli Settlement: Palestinian Police Officer Identified as Perpetrator

Watan-Two settlers were killed in a shooting incident that occurred at the “Ayli” settlement gas station between the cities of Nablus and Ramallah this evening, Thursday. It became clear that the perpetrator is “Mohammed Mansara,” an officer in the Palestinian police from Qalandia refugee camp.

Hebrew sources reported serious injuries to settlers, confirming that they were in critical condition and later pronounced dead. This was followed by a state of alert for the occupation forces in the vicinity of the settlement after the shooting incident.

Palestinian media revealed the identity of the attacker, martyr officer Mohammed Mansara from Qalandia refugee camp, who was killed after carrying out the shooting at the entrance of the Ayli settlement, resulting in the deaths of 2 settlers.

According to the Israeli army radio, the shooting attack took place at a gas station in the “Ayli” settlement between the cities of Ramallah and Nablus.

The radio station mentioned that the same gas station witnessed the killing of 4 settlers in a previous attack about 8 months ago.

Details of the Ayli operation

Al Jazeera correspondent Hassan Masoud stated that the latest information indicates that the two settlers were killed by a group of Palestinian resistance fighters who attacked the “Ayli” settlement located on the road between Ramallah and Nablus.

According to Israeli media, sirens sounded in the northern West Bank area, warning of a security threat and the presence of infiltrators in the area.

A video clip showed dozens of Israeli forces stationed at the gas station alongside military armored vehicles and ambulances.

The Ayli settlement had experienced a similar operation last June, resulting in the killing of 4 Israelis due to gunfire in the same area where today’s operation took place.

Mohammed Mansara, a Palestinian police officer, carried out the Ayli operation

The Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” hastened to state that the perpetrator of the operation is a Palestinian police officer named “Mohammed Mansara” from Qalandia refugee camp near Jerusalem.

Mansara was released in 2019 from Ofer Prison, where he served a prison sentence as a member of Fatah, and he spent some time in Israeli prisons in the past, according to the source.

Mansara was martyred at the scene of the attack in Balleh, by Aviad Gazbar, one of the owners of the “Hummus Eliyahu” restaurant at the gas station, who was returning from reserve duty in Khan Yunis.

The Palestinian Red Crescent announced the martyrdom of the Ayli operation perpetrator due to his injuries from the occupation’s bullets.
