Israeli Military Kills 5 Palestinians and Arrests 4 in the West Bank Amid Ongoing Violence
Israeli Forces Claim to Foil Major Attack, While Palestinian Health Ministry Reports Multiple Casualties.
Watan-The Israeli army announced on Thursday that it killed 5 Palestinians and arrested 4 others in northern the occupied West Bank.
The army stated in a press release: “The Duvdevan unit and the undercover Border Guard forces (Israelis dressed in Palestinian clothes and speaking Arabic) carried out operations in the West Bank.”
It added that the operations took place in the villages of Tamoun and Tubas, targeting what it claimed were “two buildings suspected of being used by armed militants.”
The army further stated: “Duvdevan unit soldiers spotted armed individuals entrenched inside one of the sites, and after an exchange of gunfire, during which shoulder-fired missiles were used against the building, the forces neutralized (killed) 5 militants and arrested another.”

The Israeli army also claimed that “the militants were planning to carry out a large-scale hostile military operation, and 3 M-16 rifles, 4 bulletproof vests, and ready-to-detonate explosives were found.”
In response, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority (the official liaison with Israel) informed them that “four citizens (whose identities are not yet known) were martyred as a result of the Israeli assault on the town of Tamoun on Thursday morning, and a fifth martyr arrived at the Tubas Government Hospital.”
Earlier, the official Palestinian news agency reported that Israeli forces had taken the bodies of the “four martyrs” after killing them inside a house they had surrounded in Tamoun.
The Israeli army also announced the arrest of 3 fighters, claiming to have seized “6 M-16 rifles, a pistol, a hand grenade, and other combat equipment” from them.
The army added that its forces “continue to pursue the perpetrators of the shooting incident near Barkan on Wednesday evening,” setting up roadblocks and imposing a security cordon on villages in the area.
The shooting incident led to the death of an Israeli settler and the injury of her husband.
This comes as the Israeli military continues its genocidal actions in Gaza and brutal military aggression in the West Bank, which has led to the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians, most of them children and women.
With U.S. support, the Israeli genocide since October 7, 2023, in Gaza has resulted in nearly 173,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, the majority of whom are children and women, with over 11,000 missing.
