Gaza Resistance Ambushes Israeli Forces in Major Blow; Dozens Killed in New Strikes

Hamas hails the "Beit Hanoun operation" as a turning point in the war, while Israeli forces suffer casualties amid ongoing massacres and destruction across the Gaza Strip.

Watan-Dozens of new victims, including released prisoners, were martyred in a bloody wave of Israeli attacks targeting shelters and humanitarian displacement zones in the Gaza Strip. Concurrently, Israeli ground forces continued the widespread demolition of homes in areas under invasion.

According to medical sources in Gaza hospitals, the number of martyrs rose to 78 from Israeli airstrikes since dawn on Tuesday.

The Hamas movement praised the growing intensity of resistance operations, declaring that Israel’s military campaign—dubbed “Gideon’s Chariots”—had failed. Hamas emphasized that Israeli slogans like “total defeat” and the eradication of the resistance had collapsed.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, vowed to launch more martyrdom operations. This came after their fighters launched a major attack against Israeli forces in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, which resulted in the killing of five soldiers and the wounding of 14 others. The Brigades also warned of plans to capture more Israeli soldiers in upcoming assaults.

Following the deadly Beit Hanoun operation, Israeli analysts voice growing fears of a Gaza war turning into a Vietnam-style quagmire.

Abu Ubaida, the Al-Qassam spokesperson, wrote on Telegram:”The Beit Hanoun complex operation is another powerful blow by our brave fighters to the so-called elite Israeli army and its most criminal units, in an area the occupation falsely believed was secure after reducing it to rubble.”

This is considered one of the largest and most effective operations by Palestinian resistance since Israel resumed its invasion on March 18, 2025, and one of the most significant since the war began on October 7, 2023.

The operation shocked Israeli leadership. While in Washington, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it “a tough morning.” Israeli President Isaac Herzog wrote on X:“The heartbreaking news of the death of five of our brave sons in Gaza, most of them from the ultra-Orthodox Nahal unit (Netzah Yehuda), is deeply painful.”

Israeli media covered the event intensely. IDF radio analyst Doron Kadosh questioned:“How can it be that the Israeli army lacks sufficient intelligence capabilities in these zones, allowing a group of armed (Palestinian) militants to reach the site and plant explosives?”
