Israeli Military Warnings on Gaza Deployment Risks

Watan-Warnings have been raised by sources in the Israeli Ministry of Defense regarding the wide-ranging risks posed by the deployment of troops in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli military sources have cautioned about the inability of the occupation army to conduct rapid and intensive military maneuvers in Gaza, with soldiers being vulnerable to ambushes or explosive devices.

The Hebrew-language Walla website cited sources as saying that there is a warning from the so-called “Defense Establishment” about a situation where “the Israeli army cannot carry out rapid and intensive maneuvers, as well as operational tasks such as locating militants and underground systems, reconnaissance, and destruction.”

As a result, the sources stated, militants can approach the forces and strike them with counterfire or explosive devices.

Lack of decisive decisions

Israeli military sources criticized the lack of decisive decisions, stating: “At present, the Israeli army is wasting its time in the Gaza Strip.”

The Walla website mentioned disputes between army commanders, members of the War Council, and members of the General Staff Forum of the occupying army regarding an invasion of Rafah.

The website quoted a senior officer in the southern command of the army as saying, “We do not want to expand the maneuver to Rafah or the central camps in conjunction with an agreement to release detainees, which would necessitate a cessation of the attack and prevent a decisive operational momentum to defeat Hamas and hand over senior officials.”

He added, “The coming days will be tense. Political and military leadership levels will be asked to study developments in the negotiations and make decisions on major issues.”

Currently, two combat brigades are deployed in the northern Gaza Strip and four combat brigades from the divisions are deployed in the Khan Yunis area, with forces spread along the borders of the Strip.
