Israeli Army Kills Two Palestinians After Fatal Stabbing and Shooting Near Gush Etzion Settlement
Tel Aviv says two Palestinians carried out a deadly attack in the occupied West Bank, killing a 20-year-old Israeli security guard before being shot dead by Israeli forces.
Watan-On Thursday, the Israeli army killed two Palestinians, claiming they carried out a stabbing and shooting operation that resulted in the death of a security guard in the Gush Etzion settlement, located in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
In an official statement, the Israeli army alleged that:“Two Palestinians arrived at the scene and carried out a stabbing and shooting attack,”
leading to serious injuries to an Israeli who was later pronounced dead.
The military added that Israeli forces and other security personnel at the site opened fire and killed the two Palestinians. No further details were provided about their identities.
The Palestinian government has not issued an immediate comment on the incident.
According to the Israeli military, its forces have sealed off the nearby village of Halhul, close to the Gush Etzion settlement, and have erected checkpoints across the area.
Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service stated that the Israeli victim, aged 20, sustained critical injuries before succumbing to his wounds.
Israel’s Army Radio confirmed that the slain Israeli was employed as a security guard at the commercial complex where the attack occurred.
