Trump to Attend High-Stakes Riyadh Summit on Palestinian Statehood Proposal

Five-Nation Meeting in Saudi Capital Aims to Secure U.S. Backing for Palestinian State, Led by Crown Prince MBS.

Watan-Media sources report that a five-party summit will be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, this Tuesday. The meeting will include U.S. President Donald Trump, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, and Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa.

According to an informed source who requested anonymity, the initiative was proposed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and received approval from President Trump.

The source indicated that Saudi Arabia hopes to secure Trump’s endorsement of its primary condition: support for the establishment of a Palestinian state — which the Saudi leadership views as a “strategic achievement” amid its intensive diplomatic efforts.

The source did not disclose the expected outcomes or specific topics of the meeting but noted that it takes place amid signs of major regional movements.

The Jerusalem Post had earlier quoted a Gulf source stating that Trump is planning to announce official U.S. recognition of a Palestinian state during his current Middle East visit — his first since returning to the White House.

Security and trade issues are expected to dominate the summit’s agenda, including deals in defense, technology, and artificial intelligence.
