Israeli Airstrikes Kill 41 Palestinians, Mostly Women and Children, in Gaza Refugee Shelters

Overnight raids on homes and tents sheltering displaced civilians in Gaza City and Khan Younis leave dozens dead and many injured amid ongoing bombardment.

Watan-The Israeli army killed 41 Palestinians and injured dozens more in early Sunday airstrikes that targeted homes and tents sheltering displaced people in northern and southern Gaza.

According to medical sources, at least 25 Palestinians were killed in two Israeli airstrikes that struck homes housing displaced families in the Sheikh Radwan and Al-Nasr neighborhoods of Gaza City.

Eyewitnesses reported that dozens of displaced civilians—mostly women and children—were asleep when the Israeli strikes struck the homes without warning, killing and wounding many. Medical sources stated that some displaced people remained trapped under the rubble, their fate unknown.

An Israeli drone also struck a tent sheltering displaced people in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, killing 3 civilians and injuring others who were transported to Al-Shifa Hospital in the city.

Earlier in the night, 3 more Palestinians were killed and others injured by an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Safadi family home in the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, according to medical sources at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.

In the south, specifically in Khan Younis, two Israeli airstrikes on displaced persons’ tents in the Al-Mawasi area killed 10 Palestinians, including children and a pregnant woman, and injured others, according to medical staff at Al-Kuwaiti Field Hospital and Nasser Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued shelling and demolishing homes and facilities in eastern Gaza City and northern Gaza, where ground operations are ongoing. Witnesses reported hearing loud explosions throughout the night and into early Sunday morning.

In Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza, an Israeli shell wounded a Palestinian fisherman working at sea. He was transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital for treatment.
